Planting media is an important component in improving the quality of seedlings. Soil with good air and water management, stable aggregates, good water holding capacity, and sufficient root space are signs of a good planting medium. This research aims to determine the response of cocopeat and husk charcoal planting media to the growth of durian seedlings (Durio zibethinus Murr.). This research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 2 treatment factors. The first treatment factor was giving cocopeat with levels N0 = 0 g/polybag, N1 = 100 g/polybag, N2 = 200 g/polybag and N3 = 300 g/polybag and the second factor was giving husk charcoal with levels L0 = 0 g/polybag, L1 = 100 g/polybag L2 = 200 g/polybag L3= 300 g/polybag. The parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of branches, branch length and stem diameter. The results showed that giving cocopeat had a real effect on the number of branches but had no real effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, branch length and stem diameter. Providing husk charcoal had a significant effect on leaf area but had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, branch length and stem diameter. The interaction between the two treatments had no significant effect on all parameters. The best dose of cocopeat and husk charcoal is 300 g/polybag giving the highest results in all observation parameters.
