This study evaluates the development of the Taufan Gama Simatupang City Forest as a public green open space in Asahan Regency using a qualitative approach. Data collection includes indepth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies, with triangulation ensuring validity. Findings show the urban forest enhances environmental quality, attracts tourism, and empowers the community through active participation in its management. Despite its benefits, challenges remain in its upkeep. Overall, the forest supports regional development and improves residents’ quality of life, highlighting the need for participatory management to achieve sustainable growth.
